Today I had my upper hose come loose from the rad and my car overheated as soon as it had alerted me it was already maxing out in temp so I pulled over immediately and was towed home.

. Yet it still wouldnt start. Its possible it may start when you add water. Starter is going but engine wont even try to turn over.

Smart car overheated now wont start. Try removing the spark plugs and turning the crank by hand using the crank bolt. Stopped to get 87 octane gas drove home and now it wont start.

Anyway I got everything together charged the battery and the car still wont start. Crank over motor with plugs out see if water squirts out of plug holes. Sound like a blown head gasket check for water in the oil also pull plugs see if they are wet.

Battery - brand new fully charged Spark - pulled coil and plug 2 and put it to the engine block. Could it be fuel pump freeze plug or alarm. Car overheated wont start now.

The reason head gaskets blow in this situation is they are softened in heat and lose their ability to hold back compression so if you overheat the engine they can let loose in many different ways. We drove the van into town from experience I know it gets air in the coolant so the temp gauge will. See if it shows any deformity.

If you switch the relay with a different one of the same size and rating. If you dont need to add maybe two gallons then it was merely low. So what else am I missing.

A leakdown test and compression test will also help determine internal prob. And anytime an engine over heats and you have to drive it I always think its just smart cookies to change the head gasket anyways. Spark is weak and orange probably being quenched by the compression into the cylinder.

Now it wont start.
